You can go on a course, probably called something like “How to become a voiceover…” hand over your huge fee and amongst the company of several other aspiring voice artists you can take your turn to have a go in the booth. I offer something slighty different.

I offer a voiceover training and showreel service,  where you come to my recording studio, discuss what you are trying to achieve, and then set about making a new showreel to showcase your voice on a one to one basis.

 This typically involves:

• choosing scripts (or you can bring your own)
• recording your voice – I will engineer, direct and produce the session
• listening back and re-recording if necessary
• mixing your voice with music and sound effects
• professionally mastering your showreel

I’ve been professionally voicing and producing for the broadcast and corporate media for 20 years. I can offer advice on script preparation, delivery and microphone technique. I will engineer the session to get your voice professionally recorded and mixed to a broadcast standard.

The Studio 

The studio comprises three rooms;  a control room, live room with acoustic piano and voice booth. The booth has a Neuman u87ai microphone and I produce almost exclusively using Apple’s Logic Pro on a 27″ iMac.

A two hour session is usually enough to allow for recording new material , listening back and if necessary  re-recording parts,  and then the rest of the time spent mixing your showreel together and mastering the final audio. You take away a CD and the master audio files.

The cost for a 2 hour session is £199 + vat.

Singers

The same service is available to singers who want to lay vocal takes over a backing track and mix together a showreel song or songs.
